This Buxom press event was the brand's opportunity to be “unleashed” on the editors & influencers of New York City. The energy, mischief and inherent sensuality of a speakeasy provided the perfect theme. After finding an old speakeasy space under Chelsea Market that is now The Tippler, I collaborated with our Visual Merchandising and PR teams to dress the space to showcase our products and bring the event to life. Guests received a Prohibition Era-style broadsheet listing our product line, a Mascara Bar press kit that was encased in a custom designed cigar box, as well as branded flasks, matches, and coasters. Makeovers were given in our vaudevillian-inspired “dressing room”.
To help build buzz at the event, we designed a photo booth and held a #nextbuxom babe contest where we encouraged people to post online. The winner received a limited edition lip polish and illustration personalized with their name. We also held a Buxom Fringe Sweepstakes in collaboration with several youtube influencers.
Buxom Cosmetics is known for their superior lip products. For the “Showstopping Lips“ booth, we couldn't wait to share the entire collection of our Full-On™ Lip Polish which included 100 shades in our bestselling category. For our booth, we designed and constructed a functional stage with custom drapery to create an environment where our bestselling lip polishes were the star of the show. For the accompanying press kit I won Best of Category in the PIASC 10th Annual Print Excellence Awards.
